Aylin Ryan is AFAA group fitness and Silver Sneakers certified. She has been teaching exercise for over 6 years. She is licensed to teach Zumba’s weight loss program, called Plate by Zumba, which was developed by renowned author Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Neil Bernard, and RD Lisa Dorfman. This program has helped her lose 14 lbs and keep it off. She has also completed the Silver Sneakers Nutrition program for Optimal Aging and many NASM courses on nutrition. She continues to learn about nutrition from evidence-based scientific literature and follows the teachings of New York Times best selling author, on the path to health and longevity, Dan Buettner, who is well versed on the habits of the longest living people in the world.
You will learn about what makes a balanced nutritious diet. The truth about protein, carbohydrates and fats will be explained and how certain foods benefit your brain, immune system, your muscles, and your bones. You will learn how nutrition affects optimal aging and the relationship between nutrition, exercise and stress management in maintaining overall health. You will understand some of the physical changes that take place as you get older and which vitamins and minerals you need to monitor to feel strong and energized. Serving size, portions and product labels will also be addressed.
Make informed decisions about everything you consume. Understand the role that carbohydrates, proteins and fats play so that you don’t get swayed by diet fads and misinformation. Get the most from your exercise and prevent falls by learning how to eat to maintain your bones and muscles.
