WHAT IS PILATES?

A program developed by Joseph Pilates to create a healthy body and mind, as well as a healthy life with balance. He believed the mind controls the body and the spirit builds the body. Mat Pilates is a group of exercises performed to create length, strength, and flexibility, improving balance, stability, and agility.

Ball Pilates incorporates the mat exercises with the extra challenge of functional core training on the stability ball. This class is suggested after you have attended the mat Pilates classes and feel you have progressed to the next level.

WHAT IS BALANCE OF BODY AND MIND?

It is the conscious control of all muscular movements of the body. We should recognize the mental functions of the mind and the physical limitations of the body so that complete coordination between them may be achieved. Not mind or body but mind and body. The Pilates method develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.

CJ has been an instructor for over 31 years, 20 of them at Loggerhead. She teaches Group Cycle, Cardio Fitness and Yoga classes. She is a registered nurse specializing in women’s and children’s healthcare.

Ania Drewnowska - Group X - Mat Pilates

Certifications: Mat Pilates, Silver Sneakers

Ania was born and raised in Poland. She came to the USA in 2004, and lived in Richmond , VA for 12 years. She moved to Jupiter in 2016. Ania has Master’s degree in English Philology and was an ESL teacher for over 30 years. She has been teaching Pilates since 2007. She loves skiing, biking, kayaking and tennis, traveling and camping, but also reading books and studying foreign languages.

Dale Matzkow - Group X - Barre Pilates Fusion

Certifications: United States Pilates Association

Dale Matzkow is on a mission to deliver Pilates to the world in an approachable, fun filled way. Leveraging her expertise and personal experience of the Authentic Pilates Method, she helps her clients meet their wellness goals with sessions that are tailored specifically for them based on their needs, aspirations, and physical capabilities. Dale’s knowledge and gentle guidance are all it takes to transform this powerful exercise system into an approachable routine that has helped her clients stay strong, flexible and in control of their mind and body throughout all the stages of life.

Rachel “Sam” Erbaugh - Group X - Mat Pilates & Core Stretch

Certifications: Barre, Pilates, Bootcamp, Aquafit

As a National Champion in swimming and rowing, Rachel’s passion for fitness started young and grew for 25 years. Trained in many fitness programs, such as Barre, Pilates, Bootcamp, Aquafit, Stretching, and many strength and toning techniques.

She prides herself on making her clients see results, and quickly. Rachel always has a smile on her face while pushing you to your max potential.

Originally from the western suburbs of Philadelphia, she has loved residing in PBC since 2010. “Palm trees make me happy!” In her time off, Rachel owns a pet care business. Her own dog, Drake, is her biggest fan.
