LHF: Hi Ray, thanks so much for being our June Spotlight. First, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Ray: I’m 71 and lost my wife a year and a half ago. I was very obese and suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.
LHF: Were you always into personal fitness?
Ray: No, I would walk occasionally, but mostly sedentary.
LHF: How did you get involved with Loggerhead Fitness?
Ray: My sisters are members of Loggerhead Fitness and encouraged me to join. I’m not motivated and decided I needed to have a trainer help me.
LHF: What are your preferred types of workouts/classes?
Ray: Working with my trainer, Gillian.
LHF: Do you have a favorite type of workout?
Ray: I just do what Gillian suggests-she just knows!
LHF: Finally, how would you describe the progress you’ve made since joining?
Ray: I’ve lost 53 lbs. and no longer take medication for diabetes and cholesterol plus one pill for blood pressure rather than two. I give total credit to Gillian for keeping me motivated. She knows just what to do and doesn’t push too hard.
